wax carving jewellery workshops - make your own ring

What is a wax carving jewellery workshop? A wax carving workshop is a hands-on jewellery making experience where you carve your own ring from jeweller’s wax, which is then professionally cast into silver or gold.

Instead of working directly with metal, you shape a soft wax form using simple hand tools. Once you’re happy with your design, the wax is sent to be cast, and a few weeks later you receive your finished metal ring.

It’s an accessible way to make something personal, meaningful, and completely unique — no jewellery experience needed.

In the session, you’ll be guided through:

• choosing your ring size and shape

• carving and refining your wax design

• adding texture, pattern, or organic detail

• finishing the piece ready for casting

Everything is done step by step, in a calm, relaxed setting. Most people arrive unsure what they’ll make — and leave with something they love.

Wax is forgiving and flexible. You can carve, change, refine, and experiment without fear of damaging anything. This allows for organic shapes, soft edges, fingerprints, and hand-carved textures that feel human rather than machine-perfect. It’s especially well suited to people who enjoy slow, tactile, creative work.

Wax carving workshops are ideal for:

• beginners with no jewellery experience

• people who want a meaningful or symbolic piece

• couples making something together

• anyone curious about jewellery making

You don’t need confidence or skill — just interest.
